Odd Pixel is led by a founding team working across art, robotics, product development, business strategy, and the creation of a new consumer category.
Lisa leads Odd Pixel’s company vision, business strategy, fundraising, brand development, and commercialization planning. She is focused on building Odd Pixel into both a category-defining technology company and a trusted global consumer brand.
Lisa brings 23 years of professional tattoo-industry experience as both a tattoo artist and studio owner. Her firsthand understanding of the industry—from the creative process and client experience to studio operations and artist economics—provides the foundation for Odd Pixel’s product vision and business model.
Through decades of professional tattooing, Lisa has developed a deep practical understanding of skin structure, dermal tissue, pigment placement, healing behavior, and the ways tattoo inks interact with different skin types. This specialized knowledge allows her to translate the physical realities of tattooing into technical requirements and guide Odd Pixel’s engineering team as it develops the company’s robotic application system.
A lifelong autodidact with a strong interest in technology, Lisa recognized the opportunity to combine robotics, digital production, and human artistry to create an entirely new approach to tattooing.
James leads Odd Pixel’s technical development and has played a central role in shaping the company’s core technology, software architecture, and early robotic experimentation.
He brings 28 years of experience across information technology and software development, with additional expertise in audiovisual systems, logic design, user experience, programming, systems installation, logistics, and project management. His multidisciplinary background allows him to approach Odd Pixel as an integrated system spanning hardware, software, operations, and user experience.
In 2010, James co-created and co-invested in the tattoo studio he and Lisa launched together. That combination of technical experience and direct exposure to tattoo-studio operations helped inspire the development of Odd Pixel’s computational tattooing platform.
